Working Principle of RT8497BGS

RT8497BGS integrates control circuitry, current monitoring circuitry and high voltage power switch. It can be used as power supply or power management unit, and also can be used for LED string drive.Input Stage: The input stage is responsible for receiving the input power, converting it to the required voltage and current and then supplying it to the control and output stages. The input stage consists of an input rectifier and voltage regulator. The input rectifier converts the input AC power to DC. The voltage regulator then converts the DC voltage to the desired output voltage.Control Stage: The control stage is responsible for generating the necessary PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) and PFM (Power Factor Management) signals to control the output stage and to provide dimming/power saving/alarm functions.Output Stage: The output stage is responsible for controlling and regulating the current through the LEDs. It consists of high-voltage power switches, current-regulation circuits and current-sensing circuits. The high-voltage power switches control and regulate the current through the LEDs. The current-regulation and current-sensing circuits monitor the current through the LEDs and ensure that it does not exceed the specified maximum.
