The RT8473GJ5 is a hysteretic buck step down regulator that performs voltage conversion between 2.7V to 6.3V input and up to 30V output. A hysteretic buck converter combines the advantages of a buck regulator; a simpler, space efficient and cost-effective solution, along with the advantages of a hysteretic control regulator, a fast transient response and low ripple.

Application

This step-down regulator is suitable for edge-lit LED light, SMD LED flashlight, LED automotive switchback signal, RGB LED, and auxiliary LED light for LCD display. Working Principle

The RT8473GJ5 includes a voltage reference, an oscillator and a comparator. The voltage reference provides an accurate reference voltage for the input voltage. The oscillator is used to generate a clock signal. The comparator compares the output voltage with the reference voltage and the clock signal to control the output voltage. The output voltage is regulated according to the input voltage.
