The RT8482GS is a PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuit) LED Driver specifically designed for the purpose of driving medium-powered LED’s in a variety of applications. It is an integrated circuit (IC) containing power transistor switching, output current regulation, a dynamic over-temperature control feature, over-voltage protection and Pre-Charge control.

The RT8482GS features a smart LED driver architecture that allows low electromagnetic interference (EMI) and maximum efficiency to reduce system cost. This LED driver is suitable for most common LED applications such as LED backlighting and LED lighting applications. With its wide input voltage range, the RT8482GS can drive up to a maximum of 16 LED’s in parallel and is able to operate from an input voltage range of +5.5V to +35V.

The RT8482GS offers an internally set constant-current for driving up to 6.5A of LED current and works on the principle of Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM).
