Working Principle
The RT8841GQW uses a two-phase interleaved type of buck converter. It consists of two buck converters sharing the same input voltage and output voltage, but with slightly different duty cycles. This increases the efficiency and reduces the output ripple of the converter.The RT8841GQW has two outputs, a VOUT_A and a VOUT_B.The two outputs are regulated by two different PWM circuits which are synchronized to the same switching frequency but with slightly different duty cycles. The RT8841GQW also has the ability to synchronize the switching frequency to an external clock with a frequency range of 100 kHz to 1 MHz. This allows the system to be set up with a multiphase configuration, where multiple converters operate at different frequencies and switching times to spread out the load and reduce the output ripple of the converter. The RT8841GQW also supports dual-loop input/output control, which allows the output to be accurately regulated and reduces losses due to overshoot and undershoot.
