RT8807BGQW is an integrated dc/dc switching controller IC with multiple protection functions, ideal for power supply design, such as non-isolated point of load (POL) converter, USB charger, PMIC, FETs and external components.An integrated on-chip device with over 13A, RT8807BGQW provides an energy saving solution and increases system operational efficiency while boasting wide input range of 3V – 53V, low output voltage ripple, low noise and adjustable switching frequency ranging from 200kHz to the maximum of 2.2MHz.

Working Principle:
RT8807BGQW utilizes a two-step control feedback system to ensure accurate voltage regulation. The first step of the control loop regulates the output voltage by comparing the feedback voltage to a predetermined reference voltage. The second step of the control loop works to regulate the output power by monitoring the output current, and switching the FET on and off when the output current reaches a predetermined upper limit or lower limit.
When the output current reaches the upper limit, the external FET will be turned off. To prevent toggling of the FET near the switching threshold, a high-resolution switch inductance calibration circuit (SLC) is included. This mechanism continuously regulates the on-time of the external MOSFET, allowing it to switch within a controlled region when operating near the upper or lower current threshold.
In order to prevent the system from malfunctioning due to low supply voltage, RT8807BGQW is equipped with an Advanced Voltage Control (AVC) circuit. This circuit allows the system to sense voltage drops in the input voltage and regulate the output current accordingly.
