Working Principles of S2004VS1
The S2004VS1 device is composed of three terminals: Anode (A), MC (main control) and Cathode (K) as shown in the figure below.
The S2004VS1 thyristor is triggered when the positive potential at its Anode (A) exceeds the negative potential of the MC terminal, resulting in a flow of electricity through the device. This current flow is only connected when the Anode is more positive than the MC terminal, because of the forward-bias of the base-emitter junction. When the voltage at the Anode decreases so that the voltage between Anode and MC is less than 0.6V, the device stops conduction and the thyristor is said to be in the off-state.
The reverse breakover voltage is the voltage between the Anode and K terminals when the SCR turns OFF. If a current flows through the device, the SCR is said to be in the on-state, effectively functioning as a closed switch.
The S2004VS1 thyristor provides an efficient solution to controlling and switching equipment in a range of applications. It is a unique three-terminal semiconductor device that is suitable for use in high-power electronic circuits.
