The S912XET256BMAL is an ARM Cortex-A53 core embedded microcontroller for applications requiring high performance. It incorporates a power-efficient 3-stage pipeline ARM Cortex-A53 core with 256KB of SRAM, 8KB of ROM, and 4MB of Flash memory. This microcontroller can be used for applications such as low-end embedded systems, industrial automation, consumer medical, commercial and consumer electronics, automotive, energy and many other applications.

This microcontroller is designed with a range of peripheral functions including 10bit ADC, 8x UART, 2x SPI, 2x I2C, 4xCAN, 9x Pulse-Width Modulation, and an Arm CryptoCell-310 Micro controller. Additionally, the S912XET256BMAL also features ARM CoreLink SSE-200 System Controller with Series 5 Security Extension, and hardware AES/SHA modules for secured data transmission.

The ARM Cortex-A53 3-stage pipeline core was developed to increase power efficiency and reduce the cost of embedded system implementations. The Cortex-A53 is an out-of-order superscalar processor with an advanced branch prediction unit and an integrated level 1 cache. This processor is capable of executing up to eight instructions per cycle, including multiple floating-point operations, NEON technology, and SIMD instructions.

The S912XET256BMAL offers a wide range of interfaces and can communicate with other components or peripherals easily. Ethernet and USB2.0 controllers offer high speed connectivity and the integrated DDR3 memory controller enables high speed data transfer and access. The on-chip 2D graphics engine of the S912XET256BMAL enables the microcontroller to render 2D graphics and provide support for high resolution displays. ARM Cortex-A53 processor features a 512KB L2-Cache and 4MB of on-chip SRAM with ECC support. This provides the processor with high speed data access and reduces the latency of memory access.

In addition, S912XET256BMAL also features a range of security features such as ARM TrustZone-enabled ARM CoreLink SSE-200 System Controller. This technology helps protect the microcontroller system against malicious attacks, and maliciously edited code. The security extension also performs authentication of code and data, memory protection, and secure storage of keys. Furthermore, the integrated HSM module provides encryption and decryption of data streams and provides secure storage for private keys.
