The device integrates three suppression voltage stages of 12V, 15V and 18V respectively. At 1nanosecond pulse or other electrical transients, the SA13C is responsble for absorbing and controlling high-voltage current, clamping the energy within acceptable voltage limits and protect sensitive circuits. The SA13C also contains a voltage-activated varistor that suppresses the overvoltage and diverts it to ground. As a result, the current will be diverted away from sensitive circuits and thus preventing overvoltage damage.

SA13C TVS diodes offer a high peak pulse current rating of up to 8.5A and an operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C. It is optimized from an electrostatic discharge perspective, offering protection of up to +/- 50 kV for air and +/- 12 kV for contact discharge.
