SA33CHE3/73 Application Field and Working Principle
The SA33CHE3/73 is a high voltage transient voltage suppressor diode (TVS) designed to protect electronic equipment from electrical transients. It has a fast response time (less than 1nanosecond) and a high power dissipation of up to 10W. The device is made of a zener diode and a pair of metal oxide varistors and has the capability to withstand transients up to 5Kv and peak surge current up to 40A. This makes it ideal for protecting sensitive electronic components from overvoltage and overcurrent.
Working Principle of SA33CHE3/73
The working principle of the SA33CHE3/73 device is based on the avalanche breakdown of a reversely biased P-N junction. When reverse bias voltage increases to a certain level, electrons will be injected into the P-region and hole into the N-region. The injected minority carriers will then cause the current to increase exponentially through the junction, leading to an avalanche breakdown. This breakdown will limit the voltage across the junction to a maximum pre-set level and thus protect the device.
The SA33CHE3/73 also has a low clamping voltage and the clamping voltage can be as low as 26V. This is important as it helps to ensure that the device will not cause damage to the protected electronic components. The device also provides a low leakage current of up to 2mA, thus improving the safety of the protected system.
Application Field of SA33CHE3/73
The SA33CHE3/73 is used in a variety of different applications where protection against overvoltage and overcurrent is required.
