SA45C Application Field and Working Principle
As a part of the TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressors) family, SA45C is designed to protect electric circuits from damage caused by transient overvoltages due to lightning, inductive load switching and other unintentional and unintentional voltage spikes. A TVS diode is an electronic component designed to block high voltage while allowing standard currents to pass, and SA45C is characterized by its superior performance and fast response capabilities.The SA45C is a unidirectional TVS Diode ideal for protecting circuits in a broad range of sensitive circuit applications that require fast response times. It provides higher levels of protection against potential damage resulting from ESD (electrostatic discharge), lightning, EFT (electrical fast transient) and high surge up to 160V. The SA45C features a low clamping voltage of 45V and a low working voltage of 8V. The device is available in packages that range from 0603 to SMA (representing 0.06\'\' to 0.1\'\' thickness).The SA45C is connected in parallel with a power source or load circuit to suppress the voltage and prevent damage to the electronic circuits. The SA45C protects against both positive and negative transients, utilizing a charge-balance dual-charge storage principle and a reverse body diode. When overvoltage occurs, the reverse body diode of the SA45C will be activated and the device is able to absorb transient energy up to a clamping voltage of 45V. Once the absorbed energy is released, the SA45C will return to the non-conductive or low leakage state. The SA45C is used most often in applications that require circuit protection, signal line protection against ESD, and transient overvoltage protection. Among its application field are consumer electronics, computer peripherals, automotive sensors, power supplies, test equipment, telecommunications and communication technologies. Manufactured with high reliability materials, the SA45C offers good thermal performance through its enhanced thermal pad which features improved energy dissipation. This feature ensures better temperature control and steady reliability of the chip, even under the most severe environmental conditions. The SA45C is widely used in high voltage transient protection because it provides excellent ESD and surge protection performance.The SA45C is also highly reliable in dissipating high amounts of transient energy with its excellent thermal characteristics. The device\'s thermal pad features an improved energy dissipation and greater heat resistance, and its high power package utilizes a higher number of TVS diodes to ensure greater thermal protection and long-term reliability. Moreover, the SA45C is constructed using a highly reliable molding material with minimal thermal impedances, to avoid deformations and increase device life. Overall, the SA45C is a reliable TVS diode designed to provide superior performance against ESD, lightning, and other transients, and to provide improved thermal performance for long-term protection and reliability.
