Transient-voltage-suppression (TVS) diodes are electronic components that protect other electronically sensitive components from electrical transients or surges. The SA58 (also known as a P6KE20CA or P6KE20) is a unidirectional TVS diode that is typically used to protect circuits in automotive and commercial applications.
The SA58 TVS diode is a 600W unidirectional diode with a voltage rating of 18V. It is an extremely reliable and reliable component due to its low clamping voltage (Vc) of 6.8V, fast response time (t < 1.0ns), and high ESD protection capability (up to 25kV Human Body Model).

The holes and electrons move toward the depletion region in opposite directions, resulting in current amplification within the diode junction. When the reverse voltage is greater than the breakdown voltage of the diode, the diode will start to conduct, thus limiting the transient voltage (V).
The SA58 TVS diode is designed to handle transients up to 600W, and is able to provide reliable over-voltage protection. The high ESD protection capability of the television diode enables it to handle electrostatic discharges up to 25kV, thereby protecting electronic circuits from damages caused by static electricity. The SA58 is also able to remain conducting and protect circuits from surges in voltage up to 18V.
