The SC4810CITSTRT is a full-featured voltage mode PWM controller that employs CITSTRT current loop architectures, enabling easy implementation of multiple output, high efficiency, and low noise synchronous DC-DC power applications.

Working Principle
The SC4810CITSTRT controller operates as a two-stage controller. The first stage comprises of a typical linear regulator, which produces an output voltage that is proportional to a reference voltage. This output voltage is then used to control the on-time of the synchronous PWMA and PWMB signals in the second stage. The CITSTRT architectures use a high-bandwidth current loop to regulate the peak current in the power switches. This removed the usual slow-response lag of peak current control and enable it to respond to fast load transients, resulting in improved transient response and reduced output noise. Furthermore, the CITSTRT feature can be used in conjunction with the voltage mode control of the controller to provide stability during high-load transients.
The SC4810CITSTRT controller includes a wide range of features, such as remote sensing for the output voltage and programmable under-voltage lockout. Furthermore, other protection features such as cycle-by-cycle current limit (Cycle-by-Cycle Control), short-circuit protection, over-temperature protection, driver fault protection and output voltage soft-start are also available. The controller is available over a wide input voltage range of 6V – 60V and features a 400kHz constant frequency operation.
