The SC804IML.TRT is a sophisticated multi-rail power management integrated circuit (PMIC) designedfor providing power distribution and management in advanced portable applications such as digital cameras, laptop computers, cell phones and other battery powered devices.This device is capable of charging up to three Li-ion batteries in parallel from a single input source, providing flexibility in the power supply design. Its features include: power-on reset and brown out detection, adjustable voltage and current limits, charge complete detection and independent thermal shutdown.The SC804IML.TRT utilizes two optimized charge path architectures for charging Li-Ion batteries. The charge path is optimized for the battery\'s characteristics and can be used to charge single cell or multi-cell batteries in parallel. The charge path is dynamically adjusted to the battery\'s characteristics and provides high quality charging while minimizing power dissipation.The SC804IML.TRT integrates a true voltage/current regulation circuit that allows the optimal current to be used for charging the battery and maintain a constant voltage. The device also implements overvoltage and undervoltage protection in order to protect the battery from damage due to excessive voltage or current.The SC804IML.TRT also implements a system monitoring and protection feature that monitors the battery\'s temperature, voltage and current simultaneously. This feature is designed to protect the battery by alerting the user when the system is approaching any of the defined protection thresholds.In addition, the SC804IML.TRT also includes an automatic restart feature that monitors the system for any voltage or current faults.
