The SCA3000-E02 is a precision accelerometer designed for measurement and observation of vibration, tilt, acceleration, and shock from small to moderate levels. It is a high-accuracy 3-axis accelerometer with programmable measurement range and digital I2C/SPI output. The SCA3000-E02 is based on MEMS technology and offers an excellent cross-axis sensitivity, as well as a low noise and wide frequency range. It is a relatively small, light weight, low power consumption accelerometer, suitable for use in automotive, medical, and consumer applications.
Application Field
The SCA3000-E02 is widely applicable in various industrial, automotive, medical, and consumer markets. It is ideal for various applications such as vibration and tilt measurement, object or machine monitoring, seismic activity recording, accelerometer based data logging and logging of machine movements, aircraft vibration and attitude sensing. Furthermore, this accelerometer is highly accurate and easy to port into existing systems.
The SCA3000-E02 is suitable for automotive applications such as monitoring airbag deployment, engine activity monitoring, tire pressure monitoring, crash sensing systems, and ride quality measurement. In aviation applications, it is used for aircraft attitude and motion measurements, wing flutter, airspeed, and pitch control.

Working Principle
The SCA3000-E02 accelerometer is based on MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) technology, and it utilizes a suspended mass system to measure acceleration along three axes. The sensor consists of a tiny beam suspended by four torsional springs attached to a substrate.
When acceleration is applied along an axis, the mass tilts relative to the substrate due to this acceleration force. This displacement is measured by an internal circuitry which produces an output voltage proportional to the acceleration.
The power required by the sensing system comes from an external supply. It converts the given supply voltage to the drive current for the internal circuitry that is used for the temperature compensation, as well as the voltage and gain regulation of the sensor.
The output interface can be configured by the user to either I2C or SPI interface. The user can also access the system through an RS232 port with the help of the XPress sensing kit.
The SCA3000-E02 accelerometer offers high accuracy and excellent cross-axis sensitivity, with a wide frequency range. It is also small in size, light in weight, and consumes low power. It is thus an ideal accelerometer for use in various industries, medical, automotive, and consumer applications.
