The SG3543N integrated circuit is a member of Maxim Integrated’s family of Power Management and Interface ICs that are suitable for a variety of power applications, including power supply controllers, monitors and mobile devices. The SG3543N is a low dropout, microprocessor supervisory circuit that monitors system voltages and helps prevent system resets and brownouts caused by a supply voltage that is below the reset threshold. The device also helps prevent system brownouts due to a supply voltage that is above the reset threshold.The SG3543N is a voltage regulator designed for use in systems where maximum supply voltage stability is required. The device features a built-in +4.2 V bandgap reference source, as well as integrated over-voltage and under-voltage protection features. The device also features a patented push-pull output stage that allows the device to easily supply up to 10 mA current.The SG3543N is designed to be used in critical power supply applications, such as portable devices. It is available in 6-Lead, SOT-23 and 8-Lead, SOIC packages.The output voltage of the SG3543N is adjustable via a control pin, which allows for setting of the output voltage between 1.4 V and 5.5 V. The output voltage is monitored by an integrated voltage monitor (VI MON) pin. The VI MON pin provides an accurate droop rate from the output voltage of the SG3543N. Another output voltage monitoring function is provided by the BIAS pin, which provides an accurate droop rate from the output voltage that is configured when the device is reset.The SG3543N features a number of features to protect the device and the system, such as an over-voltage (OV) monitor, an over-temperature-monitor (OT) monitor, and an under-voltage (UV) monitor.
