Introduction

The SI5013-D-GM is a high performance clock and timing solution designed to meet the requirements of industrial and consumer applications with fast response time and highest accuracy. It enables fast, repeatable and reliable clock adjustment and control as well as precise timing of events and/or signals. This application field covers a wide range of applications including communication, audio, video and industrial applications.

Application Field

The SI5013-D-GM is a CMOS configurable clock and timing device with on-board embedded system design functionality. It is suitable for the most challenging clock and timing applications. It is especially suitable for consumer applications, such as digital audio/video, computer, communication and cable TV/Satellite broadcasting applications, where an ultra-low power clock device with highest performance and accuracy is required. It is also appropriate for industrial automation applications such as motor control, machine vision, robotics, etc.The SI5013-D-GM allows programs, data files and configuration settings to be rapidly updated, while keeping the clock and timing parameters synchronized. This allows the system to be remotely monitored and adjusted in real-time, therefore enabling better control of devices or processes. It ensures high accuracy and fast response, making it an ideal solution for mission critical applications.

Working Principle

The SI5013-D-GM uses an ultra-low power customizable timing core and a configurable CMOS logic fabric. The timing core is based on a digital phase-locked loop (DPLL) circuit and allows users to control the timing parameters of the device with great precision, accuracy and speed. The configurable logic fabric enables fast signal processing and signal synchronization by implementing various logic operations into the signal path and generating the required output signals.The timing core is user-programmable, providing flexibility for designing the structure of the application, including the clocking and synchronization functions. The configurable logic fabric can implement Boolean functions such as AND, OR, XOR, and NAND. This flexibility allows for the design of customized algorithms such as state machines, finite state machines and control structures.The SI5013-D-GM can also be used to implement digital filters, saturator circuit and signal interpolation. The interpolation feature can be used to correct ADC, DAC or other digital signal data errors. This device also supports resampling and rate conversion of digital data.
