Design Features
The SI5324A-C-GM provides seven differential clock outputs and four single-ended clock outputs. This highly configurable clock generator has an integrated phase-locked loop (PLL) and other flexible digital circuitry to provide jitter attenuation and clock synthesis capabilities while also providing off-sheet fanout capability. The device also integrates digital paths and other logic elements to support programmability, reconfigurability, timing correction, and rate selection. This device also supports multiple clock outputs from one device and also allows clock synchronization and phase-alignment capabilities between all its XO outputs, thus enabling multiple on-board clocks.
The SI5324A-C-GM is equipped with an internal phase-locked loop with a wide frequency range of 2 MHz to 400 MHz and even wider if the device is used in conjunction with external components. This wide operational range allows the device to support a variety of output frequencies and allows customers to design highly flexible systems. This device also offers jitter attenuation performance across clock outputs and achieves an average jitter of 40 femtoseconds. It also supports a wide range of input frequencies and voltage levels and tolerates up to 2:1 duty cycle variation.
The SI5324A-C-GM supports a wide range of input and output types such as LVPECL, LVDS and LVCMOS, allowing users to create systems with clock signals that can be used across different platforms and ICs. This clock generator also features a very low power consumption of 0.8W and a space-saving compact size, allowing customers to save space on the PCB. It also has an extended operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, allowing it to be used in industrial and transportation applications.
