It can deliver robust jitter performance in multiple configurations including LVPECL and LVDS outputs, while providing configurable output frequencies from 35 MHz to 650 MHz. Clock/Timing applications may require very specific output frequencies, dividers and dividers settings, so the SI5335D-B05295-GM feature a wide range of application-specific settings. It can generate up to a dozen different frequencies or settings, including a maximum output frequency of up to 650 MHz. Additionally, it offers configurable divider ratios from 24 positions (1/1-8/24) for the LVPECL outputs, and 25 positions (2/2-4/25) for the LVDS outputs.Features
The SI5335D-B05295-GM supports both LVPECL and LVDS output types, making it well-suited for high-frequency applications, as well as applications that require multiple output type options and various output frequencies. It also features low jitter performance that supports a wide range of data rate requirements, making it an ideal solution for various clock and timing applications.The device is capable of locking up to the frequency of an external reference clock, or even a non-reference clock, allowing for the output frequencies to be dynamically adjusted. This feature helps reduce cost, by simplifying the design of replacement parts, as well as improving reliability by providing a slew of timing options.The SI5335D-B05295-GM also sets itself apart from the competition by integrating three frequency select pins that allow for quick configuration and flexibility. Furthermore, the integrated frequency select pin configuration supports both mechanical and digital configurations, which can be implemented using any one of the various JTAG compatible interface pinouts. Lastly, it features a digital controller that offers a wide range of features, including: autonomous loop transient detectors, adjustable system response factors, as well as manual and automatic compensation settings.Working Principle
The SI5335D-B05295-GM utilizes an integrated Digital PLL (DPLL) to produce a controlled output frequency from an incoming reference signal. This PLL is designed around a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) and a frequency scaler.The voltage controlled oscillator consists of a pair of varactor diodes and a tank circuit, which is normally tuned to the desired frequency range. The frequency scaler is powered with a predefined current sourced from the integrated voltage regulator. When a reference signal is applied to the incoming signal, the frequency scaler and the VCO help the SI5335D-B05295-GM achieve the right frequency and amplitude required by the application. The combination of the voltage controlled oscillator, the frequency scaler, and the digital PLL allow the SI5335D-B05295-GM to generate output frequencies as high as 650 MHz. This allows the SI5335D-B05295-GM to work with any existing communication protocols, as well as operate with various typical industry devices. In addition to its dynamic output frequency selection capabilities, the SI5335D-B05295-GM is also equipped with a set of integrated test and diagnostic features.
