This reference signal is then inputted to the PFD which compares it to the feedback signal from the VCO. The PFD then generates an error signal which is sent to the loop filter, which averages and smoothens it. The filtered signal is then sent to the charge pump which converts it into a current signal that is inputted to the VCO. The VCO then tracks the reference signal and produces an output that is phase and frequency locked to the input signal.The SI5335D-B05378-GMR is capable of generating multiple outputs of varying frequencies from a single input. This is achieved by the inclusion of PLL sub-blocks which are digitally controlled. These allow the user to program the device to produce any desired frequency.
