Working Principle
The SI5335D-B06487-GMR uses a fractional rate synthesis technique called Delta-sigma frequency synthesis to generate multiple, on-demand frequencies directly from a low-cost crystal. This technique has the ability to take a single crystal reference, such as 24 MHz, and generate frequencies up to 125 MHz with very low jitter and low phase noise. The device contains an Internal Voltage-Controlled Oscillator (VCO) as well as comprehensive phase-locked loop (PLL) circuitry. The device combines these components to create phase-coherent frequency multiplication that produces extremely low jitter output clocks from the crystal reference. The PLL circuitry in the SI5335D-B06487-GMR is designed to get longer hold times and to maintain a higher accuracy in demanding environments such as environmental and sinusoidal noise. The device also utilizes a combination of analog and digital techniques to provide high jitter immunity and sharp loop response.
