Clock/Timing - Clock Generators, PLLs, Frequency SynthesizersThe SI5340B-A-GMR is an advanced clock generator and receive (Rx) client frequency selector that uses Silicon Labs\' proprietary fourth-generation third-order passive loop filter (PLF™) technology to provide an output clock signal with enhanced frequency stability and accuracy. With over 80 of its customers utilizing it in their time-critical applications, the SI5340B-A-GMR is an indispensable part of the market for timing, synchronization and clock generation systems.The need for better accuracy and stability of clock timing signals has grown rapidly in recent years, particularly for high-end server, broadcasting and telecom applications. The SI5340B-A-GMR helps address these needs by enabling high performance clock synchronization in challenging environments. It provides innovative features like packet transferless timing, low jitter and Ethernet compatibility, as well as high stability and accuracy. It is also capable of providing seamless backward compatibility with previous generation devices.The SI5340B-A-GMR also supports a wide range of customizable application options that allow customers to tailor its performance to their needs. This includes configurable options such as spread-spectrum clocking, dual port clocking, multiple reference input types, temperature monitoring, and loop filter coefficients tuning. It is also the only device to feature a selectable receive (Rx) client frequency selector that helps expand application design flexibility.The SI5340B-A-GMR can be easily integrated into a wide range of applications, from telecom network synchronization (hold-over, G.813) to demand response (CSA), to as well as broadcast timing and synchronization (EBU, GPTP). It also supports a wide array of signaling standards, such as IEEE 1588, G.781, SMPTE-L1 and SMPTE-L2. The device’s compatibility with digital communication systems, such as IP networks, Ethernet, and other non-IP systems makes it ideal for digital synchronization applications.The SI5340B-A-GMR is powered by an advancedthird-order passive loop filter (PLF) technology that helps ensure the accuracy, stability and reliability of its outputs. The PLF is used to reduce the output jitter and phase noise in order to improve overall system performance. The PLF’s output clock signal also has a dynamic range of up to ±100ppm. Additionally, the PLF technology provides an added level of configurability, enabling the user to fine-tune the device’s output clock according to their application’s needs.The SI5340B-A-GMR features a fully integrated and programmable temperature compensation system that further improves the stability and accuracy of the output clock signal. It helps ensure that the output clock frequency remains consistent, even in extreme temperature ranges, ranging from -40°C to +85°C. The SI5340B-A-GMR provides customers with a simple, cost-effective solution for clock synchronization and clock generation applications in communication and networking, broadcasting, telecom and other high-end enterprise applications. Its advanced PLF technology and temperature compensation system offer unprecedented stability, accuracy and performance, all while providing the flexibility, scalability and compatibility needed for modern digital networks.
