The SI5350A-B03204-GTR is a clock generator with integrated Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) and Frequency Synthesizers. It is part of Silicon Labs\' programmable high performance clock generation family. The SI5350A-B03204-GTR offers a wide frequency range from 75 MHz up to 3.2 GHz and provides low jitter clock outputs for superior performance in a compact 4x4mm QFN package. It is designed for applications requiring higher performance and tighter jitter requirements such as multi-service Ethernet, Fibre Channel or SONET/SDH. The SI5350A-B03204-GTR is optimized to provide maximum flexibility while minimizing design costs.
The SI5350A-B03204-GTR operates off of a single 3.3V DC power supply and includes an integrated temperature sensor and on-chip mems oscillator. This allows the SI5350A-B03204-GTR to be configured to operate over the full -40°C to +85°C temperature range without the need for external components. The integrated mems oscillator ensures reliable startup, improved jitter performance, lower power consumption and a considerable cost savings when compared to discrete crystals. It also offers configurable reference clocks, clock multiplication / division, integrated spread spectrum, and an integrated jitter filter.
The SI5350A-B03204-GTR supports a flexible range of serial interfaces such as SPI, I2C and SMBus for easy programming and firmware update configuration. It also offers frequency adjustments across the entire operating range. Through the serial interface, a user can configure the output frequency, phase, duty cycle and power management settings to optimize clock generation performance and efficiency. The SI5350A-B03204-GTR also includes a Self-Test Mode, allowing a system designer to quickly test the performance of the device using an external source. The PLL is capable of generating reference frequencies using either a single Crystal Oscillator (XO) or a Clock Reference (REFCLK).
