The SI5368B-C-GQ is a clock generator, PLL (phase-locked loop) and frequency synthesizer that offers a single synthesized output at a specific frequency. It is designed for embedded applications where high-reliability is of utmost importance. The SI5368B-C-GQ provides a low power solution for various embedded systems such as avionics, medical, automotive and telecom/data communications.

The SI5368B-C-GQ offers 8 different input clock options for PLL or free-running applications. The primary inputs are low-frequency references from crystal oscillators (XO) or clock inputs from external clocks. The PTN can be programmed to by pass the PLL for a single clocking frequency or can be used as part of a frequency hopping system. This is key for high-bandwidth and multi-frequency embedded applications.

The on-chip VCO (voltage controlled oscillator) options range from 2400MHz to 2800MHz, which offers wide flexibility for various functions. The on-chip VCO and input divider can be programmed to create any desired frequency in the output range (200MHz-1440MHz). The built-in fractional-N frequency synthesizer can generate resolutions as low as 0.0125Hz. The SI5368B-C-GQ is also equipped with on-chip spread spectrum modulation, allowing operation substantially lower EMI (electromagnetic interference).

The SI5368B-C-GQ offers a variety of output options, including differential and single-ended outputs (LVPECL, LVDS and HCSL). And with its dual-chip layout (inputs and outputs are separate chips), the frequency tweaking process is quicker and simpler. The SI5368B-C-GQ also features a variety of on-chip features that allow for further customization, including an output channel trimming and an integrated, self-calibrated crystal oscillator.

The SI5368B-C-GQ also offers a simple, yet robust 2.5V/3.3V CMOS power supply that makes it ideal for embedded systems. The device has a very low power consumption (1mW typical), and is designed for use in extreme environmental conditions. It can also be used in high-radiation environments, with an accelerated life-cycle testing option available.
