Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits are tools used by engineers to evaluate components and circuit designs, to debug and to optimize these components and circuits. Among those tools, the SI5394A-A-EVB is a new evaluation board from SiTime, a leader in timing solutions. It has many potential applications within various industries, including consumer IoT, automotive, communications, industrial and medical applications. This board can be used to evaluate the features and performance of SiTime\'s Digital Programmable Oscillator (DPO) family which includes the Si5394A-A and the Si5394A-BF, two next-generation Digital Programmable Oscillator (DPO) ICs.
The SI5394A-A-EVB provides the power supply for the Si5394A-A and Si5394A-BF. It also offers an expansion board for additional components that are required for the evaluation of the Si5394A-A product family. It includes a power supply for the Si5394A-A and Si5394A-BF as well as a debug connector, an onboard resistive touch controller, a two-axis rotary encoder and a real-time clock (RTC). This board is also compatible with other evaluation boards from SiTime such as the Si5394B-EVB, Si5394C-EVB and Si5394D-EVB.
The SI5394A-A-EVB has a number of features to help with the evaluation of the Si5394A-A and Si5394A-BF products. The board has a number of connectors and ports. These include a Vext connector for power supply and a number of control and debug ports for interfacing with the evaluation board. Additionally, there is an integrated FTDI USB-to-UART cable which can be used to connect the evaluation board to the system for programming and debugging. There is also an on-board oscilloscope for observing the waveforms of the various signals.
The evaluation board also provides a graphical user interface (GUI) for device and board configuration. This GUI is accessible through the on-board RS232 port or through a USB connection. The user can also connect the board to an external system for further debugging and configuration. The GUI includes features such as device configuration, register access, live oscilloscope traces and data acquisition.
The SI5394A-A-EVB also features a number of other capabilities. It can be used to evaluate the Si5394A-A product family for accuracy and stability over temperature, supply voltage, frequency, waveform, power and load requirements. It also includes a number of on-board tolerance testing tools, allowing the user to assess the device with multiple parameters. Additionally, the board includes a single supply logic minimizer to reduce the number of pins used in the design. There is also an onboard JTAG interface for the debugging and programming of the Si5394A-A and Si5394A-BF products.
To evaluate the Si5394A-A-EVB, the user is provided with an I2C interface for programming and debugging the device. The board also includes a software development kit and a graphical user interface which can be used to program the Si5394A-A and Si5394A-BF products. The software development kit includes code for data acquisition, waveform acquisition, data logging and test control.
The SI5394A-A-EVB is an ideal tool for evaluating the features and performance of SiTime\'s Digital Programmable Oscillator (DPO) family of products. It is capable of evaluating the accuracy and stability of these products over temperature, supply voltage, frequency, waveform, power and load requirements. It also includes a number of onboard tools for evaluating the device, as well as an I2C interface for debugging and programming.
