Gas Discharge Tube Arresters (GDT) are widely used in telecommunications, especially in power plant operations, military applications, and high power DC applications. The SL1021A250C GDT is specifically designed to provide a very high current rating when used in high current applications such as in power plants.
The SL1021A250C GDT is a non-linear composite arrester, consisting of a semiconductor diode, a silica-filled waveguide and an arrester spark gap. This unique combination enables the SL1021A250C GDT to provide a precise level of protection against electromagnetic interference (EMI) and overvoltage pulses. It has also been designed to withstand a wide temperature range, from -55°C to 125°C, with a maximum power dissipation of up to 500W.
The SL1021A250C GDT has three separate protection mechanisms: spark gap, metal oxide varistor (MOV) and high voltage thyristors.
