The SL28SRC02BZI is a high performance, low power clock generator, phase-locked loop and frequency synthesizer that utilizes a combination of analog and digital architectures. It is designed to provide stable, accurate and versatile clock outputs, ideal for applications such as clock and data recovery, clock synthesis, frequency synthesis and high speed communications. The SL28SRC02BZI is optimized for low power operation with input phase noise between 250 kHz and 1 MHz and a maximum power consumption of 12.3mW. The IC also features a wide range and flexible phase/frequency resolution options, allowing for a range of optimization levels and providing a wide range of customizations. The SL28SRC02BZI is compliant with the latest versions of various standards, including JEDEC, ITU-T G.707, 3GPP, 4G/LTE, ETSI Smart Grid and IEC.
The SL28SRC02BZI is an integrated block of essential clock generating functions, such as oscillator, clock generator, phase-locked loop as well as frequency synthesizer. It can generate several Single-Ended output signals and up to 12 Differential Centered output signals. The IC is able to accept input frequencies of up to 200MHz in order to generate precisely frequency down convert outputs. Clock generator’s frequency tuning resolution is a maximum of 40ps. Additionally the device can be programmed to meet specific requirements. The range of the VCO is from 4.69GHz to 4.9 GHz.
The SL28SRC02BZI also features a low jitter PLL architecture which is optimized to offer low phase noise even at higher output frequencies, allowing for reliable locking and ensuring a high degree of accuracy. The PLL loop filter damping factor is designed for a broad range of applications and can be varied for further tuning of the system. The PLL also features an acquisition time of 2.6 microseconds, allowing it to quickly and easily lock up to rapidly changing frequencies.
