Working Principle of SLP6S-2

The SLP6S-2 connector consists of two parts, an FFC/FPC panel-mounted connector and an FFC/FPC cable-mounted connector. The FFC/FPC panel-mounted connector is a one-piece molded component that is mounted onto a PCB. The FFC/FPC cable-side connector has a cable mounted connector that consists of multiple poles and an FFC/FPC contact that is crimped onto the cable. The two connectors are then connected using pins, with the panel-mounted connector serving as the host connector, while the cable-mounted connector serves as the guest connector.

The SLP6S-2 connector has a simple, yet highly reliable working principle. The panel-side connector has contacts which make contact with the cable-side contacts. When the panel-mounted contacts and the cable-side contacts are pushed together, the contact poles are separated, and the contact plate is just enough to keep them apart. This ensures a reliable connection and prevents shorts from occurring. When the connection is released, the contact poles come back together, and the connection is restored.
