Application Field and Working PrincipleThe SLP682M025C1P3 is a high-performance capacitors capable for a broad range of application including bypass, decoupling, and filtering applications. It is used to smooth an incoming supply voltage wave and dissipate any high-frequency noise generated in a high-speed switching power supply in a power conversion circuit. The working principle of aluminum electrolytic capacitors is based on Faraday’s law of electrolysis. When a voltage is applied across the capacitor, two electrically-conductive plates are formed and separated by an insulating dielectric material such as a liquid electrolyte or an insulative solid. A current flows through the capacitor and charges the plates, thus creating an electrical charge at the plates. When the voltage is removed, the electric charge remains stored in the capacitor until it is discharged. The SLP682M025C1P3 is made up of a cylinder of anodized aluminum rolled into a thin foil and a layer of deposited aluminum foil acting as the positive electrode.
