Working Principle of SMA6T56AY
The SMA6T56AY consists of five main components: an integrated overvoltage protection circuitry, a substrate diode, an avalanche diode, a PN junction breakdown behavior and an analog switch. The integrated overvoltage protection circuitry provides a protection barrier, which prevents the device from entering an overvoltage condition. The substrate diode and avalanche diode provide a very low dynamic resistance to support high surge current and maximize clamping performance. It also provides the highest level of ESD protection. The PN junction breakdown behavior enables a constant breakdown voltage during sustained transients conditions.
