The working principle of SMAJ530HE3_ALL is relatively simple, it will clamp the voltage waveform to below a specific/maximum voltage level to ensure the protection of sensitive components. When the voltage level is lower than the clamping voltage the diode will not conduct any current. As soon as the voltage level reaches the threshold or threshold voltage for breakdown of the diode, the diode will conduct the current and reduce the voltage to the clamping voltage. This is achieved by the diode reaching conduction when the voltage waveform reaches the diode zener breakdown voltage, this results in the attainment of the clamping voltage set for the diode.
The SMAJ530HE3_ALL is designed for protecting I/O ports and minor signal lines by clamping voltage levels within the range of 9~11V.
