SMBG6.0-E3/52 is an electrostatic protection device mainly used to protect Against ElectroStatic Discharge (ESD) events caused by contact between an operator and an electronic system. SMBG6.0-E3/52 has a very fast response time, making it suitable for applications requiring high speed protection. With its 6 kV stand-off voltage, about four times more than most other ESD devices, it can provide high level of protection even in the most demanding ESD environments, such as switching power supplies and server farms.

SMBG6.0-E3/52 works by quickly clamping the voltage at a predetermined level. This is done using a breakdown voltage mechanism, where the junction of a impedance device (typically a diode) will undergo a sudden decrease in its resistance when the voltage reaches a certain threshold (the breakdown voltage). This then causes the current abruptly increase, thereby limiting the voltage to a predefined level.

SMBG6.0-E3/52\'s electrostatic discharge protection performance is excellent. Its device clamping voltage is stable and accurate, and its response time is fast (less than one nanosecond).
