TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) diodes are avalanche-triggering semiconductor devices designed for protection against transient over-voltages. This breakdown effect causes the voltage across the device to quickly decrease to a safe, less than breakover voltage level. The device is designed to protect the electronics from damaging short-term bursts of high voltage, or transients, that may enter the power supply.The SMF20A-HE3-08 provides excellent transient voltage protection for both over-voltage and under-voltage conditions.
