TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) diodes are electronic components of which the primary purpose is to protect sensitive electronic components from extreme electric translation disturbances, usually related to static discharges. The two semiconductor chips form an NPN-PNP voltage regulating device that works in a manner similar to a traditional Zener diode.
