The SN75110ADR is a quad differential line driver designed to meet the requirements of the TIA/EIA-485 Standard pertaining to balanced differential communication line drivers and receivers. This standard defines a driver with a slew rate of up to 30-V/µs and that it be capable of driving four unterminated lines with a rate of 80-mA of DC current. The SN75110ADR is an ideal choice for high-speed communication line drivers for half-duplex and full-duplex applications.
The SN75110ADR features an integrated 4-channel line driver with four differential line drivers, providing drive capability to four independent data lines(A, B, C, and D). The device contains four differential drivers, each having one output pin and one inverted output pin. The differential line drivers are designed so that they can drive four unterminated twisted pairs of wires, along with a separate common-mode ground line.
The SN75110ADR provides full galvanic isolation between the logic signal inputs and the line driver outputs. It achieves galvanic isolation using optical isolators, which provide a fully optically-isolated opto-coupler. This isolator provides signal level and ground isolation between the logic component and the line drivers, allowing the connection of different ground potentials.
The SN75110ADR features two input pins, one for data and one for common-mode ground. Data is input to the input pins via an optically-isolated differential latch circuit.
