The receiver receives the serial data and restores it to its original parallel form through the differential line receiver.

The transmitter and receiver are T/R controlled separately by the respective pins, enabling the SN75112N to function as both a transmitter and a receiver. The T/R pin is used for both the transmitter and the receiver to control their operation. When the T/R pin is low, the transmitter is enabled and the receiver is disabled.
