Working Principle

The SN75176ADR consists of an octal differential line driver and an octal differential line receiver, along with output enable/disable control logic. The driver section is capable of transforming the data supplied at the Data Inputs (DIN) into differential signals, which are exchanged across the transmitters’ and receivers’ terminals with voltages ranging from VCC to VEE (ground). The control logic provides separate enable and Disable signals for the driver and receiver. The driver output is enabled with a high level (active high) enable signal and disabled with a low level enable signal. The receiver input is enabled when its enable signal is low and is disabled when this enable input is held high.

The receiver section is capable of detecting and interpreting the differential signals from the driver section and transforms them into data signals (low level). This data is then supplied to the Data Outputs (DOUT) as low level signals. Also, the receiver has an inhibit capability which disables the receiver when its Inhibit Input Pin is held high.
