The SN75ALS056N is an octal bidirectional three-state bus driver-receiver used to provide central sources of data for bus-oriented systems. It is designed for operation in either 2.4V to 3.6V or 5V circuits with a propagation delay of less than 8 ns. The SN75ALS056N has an internal regulated power supply for the operational amplifier (OPAMP).
The SN75ALS056N has eight discrete Output Enable (OEn) pins - four high and four low. Each output has a separate OEn pin attached that allows the output to be placed in the high impedance state without tying the output low or high. This feature allows the SN75ALS056N to provide power savings by disconnecting the output from the bus system when it is not being used.
The SN75ALS056N has two levels of protection against short-circuit and over-voltage conditions. The first level of protection is built into the driver portion of the device and is typically integrated into the power supply.
