SP483ECN-L

The SP483ECN-L is an integrated circuit serial transceiver that transmits and receives data on 3-wire buses over short and long distances. It supports various serial interfaces, such as RS-232, RS-422, RS-485 and other types of multi-drop networks. The device is well suited for driving up to 256 nodes over twisted pair or shielded cables, or over multi-drop networks.

The device can take input data from logic-level logic high to up to +15V and will convert it to the appropriate level of logic high as required by the bus, while the output data can be based on logic high voltage of up to +15V.

The SP483ECN-L provides two modes of operation, a transmit-only mode and a two-wire full-duplex interface mode. In the two-wire mode, the driver is powered by the receiver, allowing for an unbalanced communications link between the two nodes. In this mode, the transmitter drives the line until the receiver pulls it back up, eliminating the need for an on-board voltage translator.

The SP483ECN-L also offers adaptive slew-rate controls, which helps to optimize the EMI/RFI performance of the system. It supports hundreds of communication protocols, including SPI, I2C, CAN, Modbus, and many more.
