The SP6644EU-L is a DC/DC buck regulator controller dedicated for LCD-TV application. It provides multiple protection features and features an integrated 300 mA low dropout regulator. The SP6644EU-L is capable of supplying 3.2A output current under full load, and is available in a compact 5x5x1 mm WQFN package. This regulator\'s high efficiency and fast transient response make it ideal for TV applications such as backlight dimming, panel color temperature setting, panel gamma correction and audio power supply.

The SP6644EU-L is a highly integrated PWM controller with three primary components: an on-chip controller, an external power MOSFET and a synchronous or asynchronous rectifier. It provides constant voltage output, utilizes an adaptive on-time control technique and has built-in protection features including over current protection, reverse current protection and thermal shutdown. The fixed frequency operation enables constant loading of the MOSFET, reducing power loss and overall power dissipation. Moreover, it features a Wide Dynamic Range (WDT) adaptive on-time control loop for improved line response, which is essential for LCD-TV applications. It also features a dual 50/25 kHz clock mode for low EMI and NF modulation for low EMI on flyback applications.

In addition to its rich features, this IC further enhances its capabilities with an integrated LDO. Output voltage is selectable from 1.5V to 4.25V based on external resistors and a maximum of 300mA output current. Its low dropout voltage and fast turn on/turn off time make it suitable for use in LCD-TV backlight systems. The enable PAD controls the enable signal of the LDO which shows a low quiescent current when it is disabled. Other features include an adjustable soft-start, over current protection and fast shut down capabilities.

The SP6644EU-L is a fully integrated IC with a range of features, such as adjustable output voltage, over current protection, thermal shutdown and LED dimming. It is available with several options for output voltage, ranging from 3.3V to 12V. This full featured DC/DC buck regulator controller can be used in a variety of applications including LCD-TV backlight systems, AV equipment, printers and digital cameras.
