Working Principle
The SP6652EB utilizes a step down voltage regulator with primary and secondary sides to provide the desired output voltage and current. On the primary side, the input voltage is rectified and filtered by a bulky capacitor to provide "key on" voltage for the switch power supply circuit to function properly. The output is then controlled by a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) circuit with either a PFC circuit or an integrated soft start drop out current limiter. To control the output, it is regulated with a regulator. SP6652EB utilizes a voltage feedback loop with the output voltage connected to the PWM\'s internal reference voltage, and then connected through a series of low pass filters and integrated op-amps to create an error signal which can be sent back to the PWM. The error signal will be amplified and used as a control signal to adjust the PWM duty cycle to maintain the correct output voltage.
For SP6652EB, the internal reference voltage is also derived from an external voltage divider network. This allows the set output voltage to be easily adjustable.
