What is a SPHV15-01ETG TVS Diode?
The SPHV15-01ETG is a Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) diode designed to provide protection from damaging voltage transients that are found in many electronic circuits. The SPHV15-01ETG is a bi-directional diode, meaning it can protect against transients in either polarity.
How Does a SPHV15-01ETG TVS Diode Work?
A SPHV15-01ETG TVS diode works by rapidly acting to absorb surges or transient voltages created by external sources which could be potentially damaging to the components in a circuit. When the applied voltage exceeds the breakdown voltage (often called the “clamping voltage”) of the SPHV15-01ETG diode, it will quickly reduce the voltage back to a safe level. The breakdown voltage of the SPTS15-01ETG is typically 6.8 volts.
