Through Hole Resistors
SR10-0.008-1% resistors are a type of through-hole resistors that are designed for printed circuit board, also known as PCB, applications. They can be used in a wide range of situations where heat and power management is important. The resistance of these resistors is calculated by taking into account the ratio of its conductor cross-sectional area to its length. The total resistance of the resistor is calculated by multiplying this ratio by its conductor resistance.
The SR10-0.008-1% Series resistor has a tolerable power rating. It is rated at 1 watt at 25°C, which is the typical power dissipation for a 1/4 watt resistor. The maximum power dissipation is 1.25W at 25°C. It also has a maximum permissible voltage rating of 600V DC/AC, depending on the type of assembly used for its construction.
Application Field
The SR10-0.008-1% resistor is an ideal component for a wide variety of through-hole applications in which high power dissipation and precise control of current and voltage is required. Its properties make it suitable for applications in the automotive, energy management, power supply, medical, defense, aerospace, and consumer markets, among others.
The SR10-0.008-1% resistor offers excellent long-term reliability. It is designed to comply with MIL-STD 883 and EU RoHS requirements, ensuring that it meets the highest quality standards and is able to withstand extreme temperatures, humidity, dust, and vibration. It can also be used in applications where high levels of shock or vibration are present without degrading performance.
Working Principle
Unlike many other resistor types, the SR10-0.008-1% is designed to be used in a vertical orientation and its resistance is unaffected by the configuration of the printed wiring board. Its design ensures that it provides precise current regulation and voltage drop across its terminals, while also offering thermal and electrical isolation from adjacent components.
The SR10-0.008-1% works by using a carbon-fiber material to create a resistive element that dissipates energy in the form of heat. This resistive element is connected to two insulated wires that are routed to the through-hole mounting configuration, as well as terminals for electrical connection. The high-performance characteristics of this resistor make it an ideal choice for applications that require precise current and voltage control.
The SR10-0.008-1% is also designed to take advantage of its robust construction to ensure long-term durability. Its high-precision resistive element is encapsulated within a rugged environment-proof jacket which helps to protect the internal components from physical damage. This jacket also ensures that the resistor can operate in temperatures ranging from -55°C to +125°C without a significant decrease in performance.
