Diodes are two-terminal electronic components that are used to conduct current in one direction while blocking the current in the opposite direction. The SS15LHMHG has the added benefit of having a very high reverse breakdown voltage, which is the maximum reverse voltage at which the current starts to increase rapidly. This means that the SS15LHMHG can handle higher voltage without any problems, which is why it is used in applications involving high voltages.
