ST2052BDR is a series of Power Distribution Switches, Load Drivers manufactured by STMicroelectronics. It is designed to provide cost effective solutions for applications such as motor control, LED lighting/displays, robotics, medical equipment and automotive systems.

The ST2052BDR integrates both discrete FET switches and load drivers into one package. This provides an overall system cost saving when compared to multiple discrete components. The devices are optimized to operate at a maximum temperature of 105°C in the extended temperature range.

The ST2052BDR is available in two versions: a 16-channel version, which supports up to 16 channels, and a 24-channel version, which supports up to 24 channels. The power range for both versions is from 8 V to 44V. The input and output current for each channel is 4A nominal for both versions.

The ST2052BDR is available in an 8-pin SMD package. It offers a low dropout voltage of 700mV at 4 A, and a low quiescent current of 0.3µA at 3.3V. The power switch provides a 25ms to 1s turn-on delay, and a 50ms to 1s turn-off delay. It also provides low EMI with integrated switching noise cancelling.

The ST2052BDR offers 3 different working modes: high-side ON-OFF mode, high-side ON-OFF plus PWM mode, and fully ON-OFF driving mode. In ON-OFF mode, the outputs can be switched ON or OFF through a logic signal. In PWM mode, the output is pulse-width modulated by a logic signal. In the fully ON-OFF mode, all the outputs are simultaneously switched ON or OFF. Furthermore, an adjustable dead time between the two switching cycles can be programmed as desired.

In addition to the working modes, the ST2052BDR also provides an integrated Emergency Stop function. In the event of a power failure, the Emergency Stop signal will force the outputs to be shut off, ensuring safety in critical applications.
