Diodes are a type of electrical component and work as a one-way electrical switch. Rectifier diodes are specifically designed to convert alternating current into direct current and are commonly used in power supplies. One such array is the ST20100C, a high-speed, low-capacitance, surface-mount diode array; which is the focus of this article.

The ST20100C is a two lead device packaged in an industry standard SOT23-3 package. This package includes two series-connected Schottky diodes with an interconnection between the two anodes that allows single connection, making it possible to construct a bridge rectifier with minimal space. This creates a rectified signal with a single polarity and provides a DC return for voltage sources. The ST20100C combines two back-to-back Schottky diodes in one package so that it can be used as a bridge rectifier, creating full-wave electronic signals.
