STOD13ASTPUR Application Field and Working Principle

STOD13ASTPUR is a kind of specially designed Voltage Regulator, which is available for many different applications in order to provide a constant voltage output for signal conditioning, power conversion, and various other purposes. Working Principle of STOD13ASTPUR

The working principle of STOD13ASTPUR is based on a Control-Mode PWM Voltage Regulator topology, which is composed of a PWM controller and a power stage. The PWM controller is used to control the power stage by generating a high-frequency, pulse-width modulated signal. The power stage is composed of an Inductor, an Output Filter Capacitor, an Output Diode, and a Transistor. The PWM signal generated by the controller is fed to the base of the power transistor, which in turn, controls the energy flow from the input to the output. The Pulse-Width Modulated output voltage is filtered using an output filter capacitor, which helps to reduce the magnitude of the output ripple while providing a constant output voltage.

The input voltage applied to the PWM controller is regulated and kept at a constant voltage by an internal error amplifier. This internal error amplifier senses the output voltage and compares it to the desired output voltage. If the output voltage deviates from the reference voltage, the error amplifier adjusts the PWM duty cycle to maintain a constant voltage.
