The SY55855VKI-TR consists of an integrated circuit (IC), made up of fast, low-power, BiCMOS components for use as a logic level translator and level shifter. It is designed for operating temperature range between -40°C to +125°C, with power supply voltage ranging from 2V to 5.5V. It enables fast, low-power, bidirectional communications between unknown sources, such as in automotive applications.The SY55855VKI-TR operates between two logic levels, translating one voltage to another by translating the logic level between two devices. As a logic level translator, it allows two devices that operate on different levels of logic (low voltage or high voltage) to communicate with each other using the common logic level. It provides fan-out capability of up to 8 outputs at the same voltages, allowing one device to drive several. As a level shifter, it changes the voltage level of one logic level to match that of another logic level, allowing them to communicate.This low-power level shifting/translating device is constructed using an 8-channel CMOS/TTL input decoder and output driver. This ensures that it provides a low-current operating state, providing the ability to switch up to 8 information lines with a low-power requirement. The output states can be set to either low-voltage high-current (LVC) modes or high-voltage low-current (HVC) modes. The high-voltage modes provide a dual logic level of translation from a low-level logic level to a high-level logic level, and LVC modes provide a translation from a low-level logic level to a low-level logic level.The SY55855VKI-TR is most suitable for automotive applications as its low-power operating mode significantly reduces the system power consumption, increasing the system’s lifetime and providing a cost-effective solution.
