SY55856UHI-TR is a high performance delay line device used for signal signal transmission and signal regeneration. The device is designed for military and aerospace applications and can be used as a signal buffer, clock distribution hub, regenerator, latching circuit and signal controlling device. The device comes in two package options: a 28-pin PLCC package and a 20-pin SOIC package. It features a wide operating temperature range from -55°C to +125°C, low power dissipation (1 mA max), high signal speed (up to 800kHz) and low EMI/RFI susceptibility.ApplicationsSY55856UHI-TR is ideal for applications where signal integrity and timing is critical, such as:• Clock distribution: SY55856 can be used to distribute clock signals to various FEC blocks in communication systems, where signal due to branching and fan-out introduces significant jitter and skew.• Clock Buffering: The device is useful in buffering the clock signals and providing buffered output with minimal jitter and skew. The buffering is done by targeting the buffers and inverters available within the device. The device has adjustable delays up to 801ns which can be used to modify the buffered clock\'s latency.• Latching and Offset Control: In digital applications where latching, synchronization and offset control is desired, SY55856 can be used for creating synchronized, latched clocks.• EMI/RFI Filtering: SY55856 contains EMI/RFI filtering to reject signals with different frequencies and phases. This filtering improves signal integrity in digital systems.• Signal Regeneration: By using the multiple delays and adjustable delays available within the device, SY55856 can be used to regenerate the signals from different transmission lines or Fan-outs within the system. The device also has power-on enable/disable feature that can be used to regenerate the signal when needed.• Communication systems: The device is perfect for applications that use EMI/RFI-sensitive communication protocols and require high speed, low jitter and low EMI/RFI interference. Working PrincipleSY55856UHI-TR uses a combination of buffers, inverters and adjustable delays to transmit and regenerate signals with minimized jitter and antijitter.The device consists of two delay lines, A and B. Both the lines have buffers, inverters and adjustable delays in series, one after the other.The adjustable delays available within the device have the range of 1―801ns. The adjustable delays are controlled by a single control voltage. By setting the control voltage, desired delay can be achieved.The buffers and inverters are used to amplify and provide buffered signals at the output. The device also has power-on enable/disable feature that can be used to turn on or off the device.The device also contains synchronous reset and reset disable pin which can be used to reset or disable the reset.
