The TARR685K010 also has a low-ESL allowing high self-resonance frequency at low temperatures, and with its low-profile design, it can also fit in the tightest spaces too. This capacitor also has a high ripple current rating, making it suitable for applications in which high power levels are necessary. Additionally, its capacitance value is retained to within ±20% -25ºC to 85ºC making it compatible with a variety of arduous applications.
The working principle of the TARR685K010 is based upon the theory of electrostatics. The capacitor consists of two metallic plates that are separated by an insulating material or dielectric. A voltage applied to the capacitor causes a current to flow through the dielectric, picking up charge. This charge is stored on both the positive and negative plates and creates a static electric field that maintains the voltage applied. When the voltage is removed, the electric field begins to decay, and the plates start to lose their charge, causing a current to flow again in the opposite direction.
