The TCA6416PWR is a dual bidirectional 8-bit CMOS I/O expander. It is designed to provide full parallel, bidirectional I/O expansion for systems designed with minimal external circuitry. This device features a two-bit configurable I/O capability, and can be configured to output either a standard 8-bit, or 2-bits of a “data-ready” signal when output data is available. The device also features a microcontroller-compatible serial port for control and status reporting, as well as support for both 3.3V and 5V I/O systems.
